Domestic equity trimmed opening gains in Friday’s intra-day trade, as selloff in stocks deepend, amid mixed global cues.

Benchmark indices reversed over 100 points from day’s high to trade flat above 17,600 levels, whereas the trimmed over 200 points to trade at 60,196 levels.

Broader markets, too, edged lower in trade as Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 indices declined up to 1 per cent. Volatility gauge, India VIX, meanwhile, slipped over 2 per cent.

Sectorally, Nifty Bank traded in the positive territory, gaining up to 1 per cent. On the flipside, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Metal indices were bogged down in trade, declining up to 4 per cent.

Among individual stocks, shares of Adani-Group companies continued their downtrend, as 7 out of 10 group companies were locked at their respective lower circuits, despite reports of Gautam Adani looking to prepay some loans failed to put brakes on the group’s market rout. READ MORE

Besides, shares of Titan rallied over 4 per cent after the jewellery maker clocked 15.6 per cent year-on-year (YoY) net sales in Q3FY23.
