Former Punjab chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Captain Amarinder Singh is tipped to be the next Maharashtra governor, replacing Bhagat Singh Koshyari who had courted controversy with his remarks on Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This comes after Koshyari informed Prime Minister that he wishes to step down from the post.

“The allegations of financial malfeasance would be bad enough, but what is worse is that the Modi government may have exposed India’s financial system to systemic risks through the liberal investments in the Adani Group made by strategic state entities like LIC, SBI and other public sector banks,” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh’s statement read.

Chief Minister has asked his party colleague and parliamentary board chairman Upendra Kushwaha to quit the JD(U). Kushwaha retorted saying that he could not leave the party without his share in the “paternal property”. This comes amid speculation about Kushwaha ‘being in touch’ with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Prime Minister will address the annual NCC PM rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi on Saturday, at around 5 pm. This year, NCC is celebrating the 75th year of its inception. During the event, Prime Minister will release a special Day Cover and a commemorative specially minted coin of Rs 75/- denomination, commemorating 75 successful years of NCC.
