MARKET LIVE: Sensex, Nifty exhibit lacklustre trade; Hang Seng soars 6%

Domestic equity wiped off early gains and inched lower in Friday’s intra-day trade amid mixed global cues.

Key indices Nifty50 declined over 10 points to trade below 18,050 levels, whereas the S&P BSE lowered over 100 points to hit a low of 60,697 levels.

Broader markets, meanwhile, were volatile as SmallCap 100 index outperformed MidCap 100 index.

All sectors shifted between gains and losses. While Metal index gained the most, over 1 per cent; Nifty IT index declined the most, over 1 per cent.

Among individual stocks, shares of Amara Raja Batteries soared 10 per cent after the company’s net profit grew over 39 per cent YoY to Rs 201.22 crore in Q2FY23. READ MORE

Besides, shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) slipped 4 per cent to Rs 203.55 after the company posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 2,172.14 crore in Q2FY23. READ MORE
